Rochdale scored one of the quickest goals of the season but were held to a 2-2 draw against Wrexham at Spotland.
It took Rochdale just 39 seconds to hit the target as Paul Connor side-footed home after Wrexham keeper Kristian Rogers parried Clive Platt's shot.
Wrexham went further behind when Brian Carey and Rogers failed to deal with a long clearance and Connor bagged his second in the 17th minute.
But five minutes later the visitors pulled one back as Lee Trundle rolled the ball into the path of Andy Morrell and he fired home.
The second half did not reach the heights of the first but Wrexham enjoyed the better possession and got their reward when Morrell took advantage of a mistake by Edwards to score his second.
Rochdale player-manager Paul Simpson hit the post from the penalty spot late on, and despite knocking in the rebound the effort was not allowed because no other player had touched the ball.
