Gary Jones piled on the pressure for under-fire Halifax boss Mark Lillis with a spectacular 25-yard goal which sealed a 2-1 success for Rochdale at The Shay
The visitors took the lead on four minutes when Clive Platt scored his second of the season with a free header from six yards out.
Halifax battled back and drew level on 18 minutes through Mark Bradshaw.
The wing-back maintained enough balance to fire a crisp left-foot volley into the corner of the net from a Mark Jules centre.
But Jones' strike ended a miserable Bank Holiday weekend for Lillis after defeat at Kidderminster on Saturday.
